The idea behind Harley-Davidson's Rider's Edge® New Rider Course is simple; we want to enable non-riders to experience motocycling while learning basic skills in a way that's fun and involving.

Here's why the course is unique:

Harley-Davidson/Buell® Dealers: The New Rider Course is offered at select Harley-Davidson®/Buell® dealerships, where you get added support of a knowledgeable staff and a complete motorcycling facility.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation® (MSF) Curriculum: The Rider's Edge® New RiderCourseSM uses the proven curriculum of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's® Basic Rider Course, with a twist provided by the enthusiasts at Harley-Davidson® and Buell®.

MSF and Harley-Davidson® Certified Instructors: Rider's Edge® New RiderCourse instructors are dedicated enthusiasts who have received certification from the MSF, as well as additional training from Rider's Edge®.

Classroom and Range: The New Rider Course includes about 25 hours of instruction, both in the classroom, where you'll learn the basics of riding safety, and on a controlled practice range, where you'll hone the skills that will make you ready for the road.

Getting Your License: Upon completion of the course, you will receive an MSF completion card, which will allow you to receive your motorcycle endorsement without having to take the Wisconsin DMV road skills test, as well as possibly help you receive discounts on insurance.

Training Vehicle - Buell® Blast®: You will learn to ride on the truly unique Buell® Blast®. The Blast® is a mid-weight street bike that's easy-to-handle and a good starter bike that's a lot of fun out on the road. It comes equipped with course-friendly features, such as two seat heights, hidden muffler and low center of gavity.

The Experience: Get an inside look at everything the Harley-Davidson®/Buell® lifestyle has to offer, straight from the people wholive it. During and after the class, you'll have the support of the enthusiastic staff of the Harley-Davidson®/Buell® dealership.
